Ashaunté - Lonely (Single)
After being mesmerized by her first single, “With You,” sultry songstress Ashaunté released a highly anticipated follow-up track that she had been previewing for weeks titled “Lonely.” The video teaser had her wielding a knife with blood dripping off her lacy attire in sequences that showed her in a bathtub covered in it still. Other shots showed her sitting by fire & disposing a body while her alluring vocals covered the background with a suspenseful stop that sets a vibe of eeriness & wonderment in the process. Before hitting the weekend, she dropped both the single & visual, which had many existing & new fans gravitating to the release for the weekend, making it a must-hear record to experience & witness the viewing in the same manner.
She can be lonely but is that really what you want? She sees right through you and the plan you're on, but you miss that she’s not the one you want to do that too. Keep playing these games, and your going to catch yourself on the wrong end of her. Do you think she needs you? Think again; she’s alright on her own, and being alone is ok with her. Continue to believe she's dumb, and it will bite back or, in this case, cut you right off, limb from limb. Ashaunté explains this tragedy in a beautiful notion & hauntingly in whispers; her soulful vocals flourish gracefully in the track, especially when it comes to the irresistible chorus that can be heard throughout the ballad. She had fun with this experience at first; you told her that’ll you never leave & that you loved her without putting anyone above her, but now that is untrue. She’s seeing the backpedaling from you with finding the way out from her, but as much as she doesn’t want you to go, she’s okay with you walking out since she’s already mentioned being lonely is her personal consumption. It’s heart aching yet spiritually softened with how harmonious she sounds in the record. She mimics her emotions in the video strongly with seeing the feeling in her eyes go dead with seeing that someone she loved buried six feet deep (literally). She is stabbing the last of the good things y’all had and ripping your very heart that was once hers emotionally but now keeps it as a lesson moving forward physically. It’s a glorious release, both the single & visual, which are beyond creative range. It does her artistry justice to know she is beyond on a different plain from her peers and onto a better escape in music.
We are already new fans of Ashaunté, but I think we just became her biggest after experiencing this release. We’re not looking to rush her on her next single since this joint will hold us over for a while, but we could only imagine what the future has in store for her. We highly recommend you check out both the single & visual here while sharing it on all social media avenues.
