Stepping outside of my usual element, I had the opportunity to sit down with Carla-Joy Sisco, a driven and passionate candidate running for San Antonio City Council District 2. While my usual focus leans heavily on culture, music, and creative movements, this conversation opened my eyes to the importance of leadership at the grassroots level — especially for a district that holds so much cultural and historical weight, like the Eastside of San Antonio.
From the moment our conversation began, Carla-Joy radiated a sense of purpose.
