The Next Encore: Randy’s Ballroom Returns to the Spotlight
For generations, Randy’s Ballroom has been more than just a venue; it has been a cornerstone of the city’s musical and cultural history. Over the decades, its stage has welcomed legendary artists such as the Beastie Boys, the Sex Pistols, Selena Quintanilla, and countless other performers who helped shape Texas music history.
Now, the iconic venue is preparing for a new chapter.
Randy’s Ballroom has officially been purchased for $2 million by the Celaya team—Rosa Sumega, Michael Glassinger, and Casey Henry—in a deal brokered by Pierre Vasquez. The acquisition was spearheaded by well-known entrepreneur Lil Jay, whose vision helped bring the historic property into the hands of owners committed to preserving its legacy while creating new opportunities for the community.
Rather than reinventing what made Randy’s Ballroom special, the new ownership plans to build upon its foundation. The venue is expected to host concerts, professional wrestling events, and continue operating as one of San Antonio’s premier dance halls, giving both longtime patrons and a new generation of fans a reason to walk through its doors.
As someone who grew up in the area, Randy’s Ballroom has always represented a piece of San Antonio’s identity. Knowing the rich history that lives within those walls, it’s exciting to see a group of owners with a clear vision for the future. Their plans have the potential to transform the venue into one of the city’s standout entertainment destinations while honoring the generations of memories that came before.
It’s not often a historic landmark gets a second chance to shine. Randy’s Ballroom has already cemented its place in San Antonio history; now, it’s ready to write its next chapter.
