Chris Patrick - Pray 4 Me (Album)

Fourth-quarter projects are always a delight to receive. Even as the year winds down, we’re reminded of just how much great music we’ve been gifted throughout the past twelve months. But it’s the last call releases, the ones that arrive quietly yet hit the hardest, that tend to leave the deepest impression. Right now, nothing embodies that feeling more than Chris Patrick’s “Pray 4 Me.”

Our first real surge into this world came through “Frankenstein,” a heavy-hitting record featuring Marco Plus with production from Conductor Williams. From the jump, it demanded attention. That track alone planted the seed, but once the rest of the project surfaced, it only confirmed what we were already feeling; this was music rooted in purpose, honesty, and lived experience.

One of the most striking moments on the project comes with “Ausar’s Prayer.” The record captures a fear many artists rarely speak on: leaving home with nothing but talent and belief, only to find that success hasn’t arrived yet. The doubt, the isolation, the quiet moments where it feels like you’re fighting the world alone; it’s all laid bare. For creatives like myself, especially those who’ve walked that road, it’s a heart-wrenching reality. Giving up can feel easy at that point, but holding onto hope takes real strength.

That emotion flows seamlessly into “Ramen Noodles,” a track that further explores the overlooked life of the underachiever; the phase before the glamour, before the applause, before the wins. Too often, we only see artists once they’ve “made it,” without ever acknowledging the hunger, the sacrifice, or the nights spent questioning if the dream is worth it. Chris Patrick removes the fear of failure and turns it into the foundation of this project. He rises to every occasion, no longer dwelling on the idea that this could be his last chance. Instead, “Pray 4 Me” feels like an affirmation; a declaration that there is still so much left to obtain. And with the level of conviction, growth, and honesty he brings here, it’s clear that he will.

Chris Patrick isn’t afraid to let his heart bleed. On “Pray 4 Me,” he allows his soul to rap, offering vulnerability as currency and truth as the message. And as the year closes, this feels like one of those project that will stay with us long after the calendar turns.
