Roll it up, light it up with Curren$y & Stove God in Austin

After completing back to back-sold out shows in New Orleans & Dallas as part of Curren$y’s 4/20 Texas Tour, Galaxy9 & Clockwork Music Inc would now begin to touchdown in the capital city, working with the powerhouse groups Illmanner Shows & The Smokeout to make sure Austin joined the previously scheduled events in the rankings, making it a three for three in sold out events.

The line wrapped around Empire Control Room & Garage, with fans waiting in anticipation to see Spitta perform some of his favorite records with a live band alongside him, where footage from the night before in Dallas had fans raving about hearing the instrumental sounds played in the background of his rapping adding a rhythmic vibe to his already chilled ambiance in his music and infuse that with the crowd and lineup would guarantee to see a night that you do not want to miss. The night saw a lively attendance behind all the smoke in the air, with the crowd covering the entire venue from front to back, celebrating the performances of each artist who made their way on stage. Highlighted performances for the night include Brodie Fresh, whose ability to construct a series of realism in his life story and convey it into his stage presence while blessing attendees with his prestigious rhyme scheme. Then contributing factors to smokers in the crowd is Derdy, who had weed anthems in the clutch for fans to engage during his set and sing along to, and let’s forget J Soulja, who can indeed turn any stage he hops on into his own, moving and shaking the crowd with his prominent wordplay and turning it to 100 in time for the headliner to start their set. Stove God came and conquered in his set, playing the holy gospel with records like “Crosses” & “Opulence” in a performance that felt like a sermon performed in the kitchen, with raps that can go hand in hand with the shit Esbocar dealt.

At last, was Curren$y, who came out with a smooth introduction by his band and DJ where he performed classics records and new joints too, testing the waters with his fans to see if they knew their shit when it came to his music which I’m glad to say they did, and proudly acknowledged that with Curren$y responding well. He also took time in his set to salute some of his past collaborations with artists no longer here, like Young Dolph & Mac Miler, which felt very special to endure at the moment, and he continued to address they’re always in spirit when he’s on stage. The show was astronomical; from start to finish, everyone I know who attended couldn’t stop smiling from ear to ear. Did they being high have anything to do with it? I’m sure it didn’t, but I know they were satisfied to see the show be everything and more for them.

I want to send a special shoutout to Rob of Galaxy 9 Productions, who held the down as host on stage and hospitality backstage and ensured our time at the show was incredible. I also want to thank the tour crew behind the scenes for holding the fort down at the show and creating a professional atmosphere. Here’s to another great event in Texas, and with many more to come, including tonight in Houston, where there will be another sold-out event to close out the tour.
