Reek, Eastside Fish, Sage - THREE-PEAT (Single)

The first of many releases Eastside Fish has slated for what is to undoubtedly be an impactful year for the impeccable lyricist. A lot of us, myself included, became privy of his unforgettable voice & nonchalant flow because of Reek & Sage & since his appearance on “Budget”, he’s become a mainstay whenever it comes to anything Tree Team related. He’s quite intriguing a figure but has quickly become as exciting as the dynamic duo whenever they drop so why not mesh all 3 together & with no features at that, just to see how seamlessly they flow off one another & that they do, sinuously so. The two have really been blessing us lately with their back to back singles that only further emphasize their ever growing musicality & artistry.

Sage’s production off rip is heavenly & to the point that it’s shaming the Devil enough to make, even the better angels of their nature weep. I didn’t think anybody could sound as slick alongside Reek til Fish came out the water, these two are swanky enough to play these scandalous females before they have the opportunity to do so themselves on “M.O.B.”, nothing like a good acronym. While Reek is more nonchalant about it, there’s this slight ignorance about Fish that I can’t help but laugh at, he genuinely do not give a fuck about the aftermath of his hitting & quitting, he’s just trying to get that money outta bitch, you feel? It’s funny cause you know these shorties are probably so used to having the upper hand in these kind of situations but these two are too smooth to ever be played. The man’s lingo is so slick, he’s able to annunciate to the point he can rhyme “dust pan” with “bunk bed”, definitely the standout bars on this one cause, although simple, they’re delivered exquisitely & tie into the whole theme of the song.

We learned that Fish had that Cali, SA connection on “California Shit” but this time they traveling “Back 2 Cali” to soak in that sunshine, the weather here obviously ain’t cutting it. I even think that good Cali bud would pale in comparison to the level of dopeness these two are supplying. Kendall & the Loners slide through again with the additional production, which only enhances Sage’s already flawless production cause why not, it’s already been proven a beautiful match. Ending things with “On Me”, the two tap into their souls to bless us with a motivational ode to staying true to themselves, as well as those around them. It’s nice whenever we get to hear that introspective side to these artists whenever they feel the need to reflect on their lives up to this point. Records as such kinda speak for themselves & only further serve to cement their longevity in this game. These brothers create timeless music, you just feel the love that was put into each of these records & if this is how we’re starting off the year for the Tree Team, then that championship has already been won by them as far as I’m concerned.
