Clownin Around with ICP in San Antonio

The Insane Clown Posse show at the Espee in San Antonio was one of the wildest nights of my life. I’d heard ICP shows were crazy, but nothing could’ve prepared me for the chaos that went down. I went in expecting heavy beats, mosh pits, and painted faces, but I didn’t know about the exploding Faygos. When the first two-liter went flying, I thought something had gone horribly wrong. Out of nowhere, bottles were being launched into the air, spraying soda everywhere, soaking the crowd like a sugary rainstorm. For a split second, I was genuinely scared for my life ducking and weaving through the sticky downpour while trying to figure out what the hell was happening.

Once I realized it was all part of the tradition, though, it became hilarious and unforgettable. ICP ripped through their classics “Hokus Pokus,” “My Axe,” “Chicken Huntin’,” and “Fuck the World.” Every song felt like a full-on assault, bass shaking the walls, Juggalos screaming every word. The energy was insane. By the time they closed it out, the floor was slick with Faygo, everyone was drenched, and the room smelled like a candy factory exploded.

I left sticky, exhausted, and slightly traumatized but honestly It was one of the most entertaining concerts I’ve ever been to.
